Time to dive in and show what’s good with Bangboos in Zenless Zone Zero. This tier list will take you through some of the best, from early game to late game. This guide will show you how to find the best Bangboos for your team so that you get the most out of your experience throughout gameplay.

Why Bangboos Are Important

In Zenless Zone Zero, Bangboos are more than just cute companions, which give your team additional buffs and some off-field dmg. Since ZZZ is a gacha game, it will be very wise to invest in your Bangboos to get a faster clear time and good Dmg to your team and your characters. This in-depth list will help you make informed decisions about which Bangboos to pursue and level up.

S-Tier

  • Officer Cui: The CISR Team specialist. Cui deals Physical Damage and has a 50% chance to activate a follow-up bite attack when you have 2 or more Criminal Investigation Special Response Team members. However, this specific requirement and the chance-based nature of its ability make it less reliable.
  • Luckyboo: Similar to Bangolver but less potent. Luckyboo offers the same type of ability as Bangolver but at a lower effectiveness. It’s also harder to obtain, being an event-exclusive Bangboo.
  • Resonaboo: The best thing that could happen to an ether team. Its Mini-Black Hole is great for grouping in addition to doing Ether damage, which makes it perfect for ether-focused teams.
  • Butler: Butler is an Energy Recharge specialist, and his ability helps your agents pick up energy faster to use their skills more often than usual. Extra skill usage can lead to some devastating combos in fights, easily placing Butler in the top-tier picks for any team.
  • Paperboo: The Last line of defence, while not healing, will give shields to your whole team. This vastly improves survivability. That said, this protective ability is pretty priceless in hard fights and works with any team composition.

A-Tier

  • Avocaboo: The ultimate healer in ZZZ. Avocaboo is among the most powerful healers that exist in the game and will always be a must in any kind of team composition. It keeps your agents in fights for longer times, which is crucial since there are no dedicated supports in the game, as of now.
  • Exploreboo: Jack-of-all-trades. Exploreboo has loads of survivability mechanics-healing, shielding, and energy regen. All these usually occur at random and will be sometimes a godsend or a complete nuisance during battle.
  • Magnetiboo: Crowd control. Magnetiboo tugs all enemies toward him while dealing Physical DMG, very useful during situations when a number of those little pests converge. He’s actually pretty versatile for everything except perhaps hyper-aggressive agent teams.
  • Bangolver: The physical attacker’s best friend. Bangolver shines when you have two or more in your lineup, allowing for devastating chain attacks that deal out 100% Anomaly Damage. You will get to trigger your team’s Assault Anomaly often with this set-up, leading to quick takedowns of enemies.
  • Plugboo: The electric team specialist. Plugboo’s Active Skill boosts Anomaly Damage when you have 2 or more Electric Attribute characters. It can also initiate electric chain attacks, making it a must-have for electric-focused teams.
  • Rocketboo: The fire team enhancer. Rocketboo is ideal for fire-oriented teams. Pair it with agents like Ben, Lucy, Koleda, and Soldier 11 for maximum effectiveness.
  • Safety: Belobog Industry’s companion. Safety works well with Belobog Industry agents, dealing Physical Damage and increasing team damage by 20% when you have 2 or more Industry characters. It’s a solid choice for Industry-focused teams but less useful in other compositions.
  • Sharkboo: The ice team’s ace. Sharkboo’s Drylands Shark Hunt skill deals significant Ice damage and builds up Ice Anomaly. It works best with characters like Ellen, Lycaon, and Soukaku for devastating ice-based combos.

B-Tier

  • Amillion: Cunning Hares’ ally. Amillion focuses on boosting Cunning Hares characters, providing increased attack damage for chain attacks. While effective, its selectiveness makes other Bangboos more versatile choices.
  • Booressure: The energy reserve. Booressure is good at replenishing energy for inactive characters. While not as effective as Butler, it’s a solid choice if you don’t have the S-tier option yet.
  • Bagboo: The physical attacker. Bagboo deals Physical Damage with its blades and chain attacks when paired with an Attack character. However, its damage output is low compared to other options like Safety.

C-Tier

  • Cryboo: The budget fire starter. Cryboo’s active skill throws a bomb that deals Fire Damage and builds up Fire Anomaly. It’s a decent choice for fire-based teams if you don’t have Rocketboo.
  • Devilboo: The ether damage dealer. Devilboo creates Ether Damage with its attacks, similar to Resonaboo. Its homing bullet Active Skill is useful, but with only two Ether characters in the game (Zhu Yuan and Nicole), its usefulness is limited.
  • Electroboo: The electric team support. Electroboo deals consistent Electric damage with its Active Skill and chain attacks when you have two or more Electric Attribute agents. It’s a good choice if you don’t have Plugboo, but its attacks are weaker.
  • Penguinboo: The ice damage dealer. Penguinboo’s Iceblade Dance skill deals Ice Damage, and it can increase Ice Damage by 60% through chain attacks with multiple Ice Attribute agents. It’s a solid choice for new players who don’t have Sharkboo yet.

D-Tier

  • Boollseye: The pierce specialist. Boollseye works much like Bagboo but this time benefits Pierce-type characters rather than Attack types. Unfortunately, its damage stats are just not good enough to land it in a top pick.
  • Sumoboo:  Stun supporter. In that case, this would only make sense if you also had a team focused on Stuns. While his main skill adds Daze damage to basic attacks, there are other characters that do a very similar job and are useful overall.

Keep in mind that this tier list gives a good idea of each Bangboo’s strengths, but the best will always depend on your team composition and how you play. Never be afraid to experiment with what works for you!
