INTRODUCTION

Latest geo character of 5 star rarity Xilonen is making her debut in genshin’s 5.1 version update first half of the limited character banner, Xilonen is a sword user and most of her kit scales on DEF%. This guide is gonna be about how you can build her in the most efficient way in the least amount possible. We’re gonna go over all her kit overview and a quick rundown on how her kit works and how to play her, in which teams she is most optimal to play in and best teammates to pair her with.

PLAYSTYLE

Xilonen have two types of playstyle namely: 1. As a support 2. As a DPS. Regarding which playstyle is better, it is gonna be the support one without a doubt as her buffing capabilities exceeds that of most of the supports in the game and is on par with Kazuha’s if not more. However if you personally like the character and want to play her on field rather than just buffing the team and swapping out you can play her as a DPS too, there will be builds for both of the playstyles.

TALENT PRIORITY

skill (ideally to lvl 10)> burst > normals ( for both support and DPS Xilonen, however you can consider leveling her normals before her burst for DPS Xilonen)

KIT/SKILL OVERVIEW

SKILL

Xilonen’s most of the kit revolves around her skill: it gives enemies a debuff which shreds their elemental resistance by around 36% on talent lvl10, which means when you perform a elemental attack on a debuff inflicted enemy they will take roughly 36% more dmg of that element, though it has a different scaling then def shred. By activating Xilonen’s skill she enters her nightsoul blessing state in this state Xilonen gets 3 samplers whichever elements you have on those 3 samplers will decrease the resistance of those corresponding elements. Initially when you press your skill it will have geo recorded in it, Depending on your team composition other elements will be added too. For example if you have Xilonen Arlecchino xiangling and Kazuha in your team then one of the samplers will have geo then the other 2 have pyro in them hence the enemies will have their geo and pyro res decreased. You can not record Annemo and Dendro in your samplers as geo can not interact with those elements.

In order to activate those buffs you have to hit the maximum of your nightsoul state. To do that after you press your skills you need to do 2 normal attacks inside of your nightsoul state. So E=>n2=>n2 to immediately activate the buffs.

BURST

Her burst is pretty simple it scales on def like the rest of her kit, it gives single target healing on whichever party member is on field and if there are fewer than 2 elements in her party she does 2 additional follow up attacks.

BURST ER% REQUIREMENT

It have a low cost of 60 but it goes even lower when you counter in her passive talent “Portable Armored Sheath” not only she gets 20% when you trigger a Nightsoul Burst but when XIilonen fills up her Nightsoul bar you can trigger another additional Nightsoul Burst which will help her reduce her er% requirements by triggering the 2-piece set buff of the Scroll of the Hero Cinder City set, where whenever you trigger a nightsoul burst your equipping character gain regenerates 6 elemental particles which means if you trigger 2 Nightsoul bursts you will generate 12 elemental particles altogether when you press your skill and hit a target you gain 6 energy your skill itself generating 4 particles then you do 2 attacks which triggers another Nightsoul burst and gain 6 more energy with this your burst is already more than half filled and her er requirement becomes lower so you just need like 150%~ ish er on her.

ARTIFACT SETS

Moving on to which artifact set you want to go on her is very straight forward: the only set you want on Xilonen is the Scroll of the Hero Cinder City set no other set can compare even close to this as the buff is so huge even if you don’t have the desired stats you want you can put anything even if you have 4 stars you can put those and you don’t even need to lvl them to get value out of it.

image25

2-Piece: When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the equipping character regenerates 6 Elemental Energy.
4-Piece: After the equipping character triggers a reaction related to their Elemental Type, all nearby party members gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 15s. If the equipping character is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state when triggering this effect, all nearby party members gain an additional 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 20s. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field, and the DMG bonus from Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.

If for some reason you don’t have the domain unlocked here are some alternatives you can temporarily use-

4-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams/ 2-piece Husk 2 piece Ocean-Hued Clam/ 4-piece Ocean-Hued Clam/ 4-piece Song of Days Past

For DPS – 4-piece Obsidian Codex is the best

Regarding what stats are you looking for they are:

FOR SUPPORT XILONEN

MAIN STAT:

Def% / ER% Sands, => Def%/ Geo DMG Bonus Goblet, => Def%(/Crit rate if fav sword) Circlet

SUBSTATS PRIORITY:

Def%>ER%(>crit rate if using Favonius Sword)

FOR DPS XILONEN

MAIN STAT:

Def% Sands, Geo DMG Bonus Goblet, Crit dmg Circlet (assuming you are on Obsidian Codex which already gives 40% Crit Rate that’s why Crit DMG circlet is higher priority than crit rate otherwise crit rate is preferable)

SUBSTATS PRIORITY:

Crit dmg/Crit rate > Def% > ER%

WEAPONS

Her best in slot is obviously going to be her signature Peak Patrol Song.

image31Gain “Ode to Flowers” after Normal or Plunging Attacks hit an opponent: DEF increases by 8% and gain a 10% All Elemental DMG Bonus for 6s. Max 2 stacks. Can trigger once per 0.1s. When this effect reaches 2 stacks or the 2nd stack’s duration is refreshed, increase all nearby party members’ All Elemental DMG Bonus by 8% for every 1,000 DEF the equipping character has, up to a maximum of 25.6%, for 15s.

Other then that if you have a Freedom-Sworn laying around feel free to use it.

image23

A part of the “Millennial Movement” that wanders amidst the winds. Increases DMG by 10%. When the character wielding this weapon triggers Elemental Reactions, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain “Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance” for 12s. “Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance” increases Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG by 16% and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s. Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.

As For F2P Players We Mainly Have 2 Options:-

1. The new Natlan craftable Flute of Ezpitzal

image10

Using an Elemental Skill increases DEF by 16% for 15s.

2. Favonius Sword

image8
CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

DPS BUILD

If you have Peak Patrol Song then use that otherwise Uraku Misugiri, Cinnabar Spindle and Harbinger of Dawn are good options too for DPS Xilonen so you can consider them as well.

image14

Normal Attack DMG is increased by 16% and Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 24%. After a nearby active character deals Geo DMG, the aforementioned effects increase by 100% for 15s. Additionally, the wielder’s DEF is increased by 20%.

image19

Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 40% of DEF. The effect will be triggered no more than once every 1.5s and will be cleared 0.1s after the Elemental Skill deals DMG.

image11

When HP is above 90%, increases CRIT Rate by 14%

NOTE- Keep in mind if you play when you play Harbinger of Dawn you can’t use Furina in the same team as it will make the buff harder to maintain on Xilonen.

TEAM COMPS WITH XILONEN

Xilonen’s buff is kinda similar to kazuha’s so you can consider Xilonen as a 2nd Kazuha therefore she can fit into almost any of the Kazuha team comps. You can either replace Kazuha with Xilonen or use both of them together. One of the best party members you can pair Xilonen with is Furina as both of them synergize very well together, Xilonen can use her burst to stack Furina’s fanfare and give hydro res shred with her skill. With Furina’s dmg buff and Xilonen’s elemental res shred almost anyone you buff is gonna do very well as a carry or hypercarry.

Among them the name most worth to mention is Neuvillette, as if he wasn’t broken enough even with his previous best team comps with the release of Xilonen his dmg potential has gotten to a margin no other dps at this point can compare with. With his new best team comp you can close your eyes and can clear almost all of the content in the game regardless of what enemies you are fighting (except hydro elemental enemies).

The team comp looks something like this –

NEUVILLETTE

Neuvillette/ Furina/ Xilonen/ Kazuha or Zhongli

image27image4image2image

(SIDE-NOTE: Neuvillette can get interrupted when using his charged attack if you use Kazuha instead of Zhongli so if you are not much confident in your dodging skills then do consider swapping Kazuha out for Zhongli. However if you have his c1 or are good at dodging then you can keep Kazuha in your team.)

Other then that there are few more teams that can utilize Xilonen very well such as-

INTERNATIONAL WITH XILONEN

Childe/Xiangling/Xilonen/Bennett

image1image16image2image5

NAVIA

Navia didn’t really had a geo teammate that could work well with her before but after Xilonen’s release you can use her in the Navia team to buff your geo dmg along with your other sub dps’s dmg but one drawback is that due to her low off field presence she doesn’t generate that much crystalize reactions for Navia so that is something to keep in mind when playing this comp.

KEQING/CLORINDE/CYNO AGGRAVATE

Due to Xilonen’s buff being longer than the Viridescent Venerer set’s buff duration Cyno and Clorinde can utilize it more as you don’t have to swap out of their skills/bursts to reapply the buffs whenever a new wave of enemy comes out. Other than that other aggravate DPS can also use her in their teams such as Keqing.

MUALANI

As for mono geo teams she doesn’t really work that well on them but you can still use her if you want in a team comp as as this

ITTO

Itto/Yelan/Xilonen/Furina

image12image9image2image4

As for DPS Xilonen there are few options like Hypercarry Xilonen . The team comp looks something like this-

HYPERCARRY XILONEN

Xilonen/Gorou/Yelan/Kachina

image2image29image9image7

Other than that, plunge Xilonen is also a thing which you can try out as well.

Xilonen/Xianyun/Furina/Kachina

image2image22image4image7

NOTE– You want your kachina on the Scroll of the Hero Cinder City set here and Xilonen on Obsidian Codex.

There are much much more teams for Xilonen than the ones mentioned here because of her versatility and her valuable buffs as mentioned before she can almost work with any dps or team comp that Kazuha can.
